Have you considered why I left you the lovers tarot card specifically?

I don’t know much about tarot so not really…

The card in particular is pretty basic and self explanatory but

So long as you have it

I can never pull it in a reading for myself

Until we are reunited.

Ive always been rather uncomfortable with long drawn out or emotional goodbyes. It’s led to some fights with people that care about me deeply, and I know it will happen every time I disappear in the middle of the night to go off somewhere far away. I would always tell people “its not goodbye, its see you later!” But I never quite meant it, and more often than not, I think every time actually, it has indeed been goodbye.

The series ends saying something like “a tearful goodbye will just make it awkward for when we meet again.” And as soon as I saw that, I knew I’d adopt it for the next time I disappear again. I still don’t know that I truly believe it, but I think it would be satisfactory.

And also, for all I know, there’s a possibility it isnt a lie. Whether in this life or the next, you never know when we’ll meet again.
